Professional Ethics

Professional ethics were created to establish guiding principles for members. Each member is subject to termination of membership, revocation of authorization, and/or other disciplinary actions if they:

  • Are convicted of a criminal offense involving violence against people or animals.

  • Engage in activities that may lead to criminal prosecution, or to a crime related to their skills/profession.

  • Act cruelly, abuse, or neglect animals or humans, commit crimes against humanity or violence against animals or humans.

  • Fail to cooperate with the organization at any stage of an ethical complaint by completing all procedures related to that complaint.

Any member/candidate/certified individual/examiner who wishes to dispute termination of membership may do so in accordance with the complaint process.
